Authentication

Global Watch provides multiple secure authentication methods to access your account and team workspaces.

Sign-In Methods

Password Sign-In

The traditional email and password authentication:

  1. Navigate to the sign-in page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Enter your password
  4. Click Sign In

Passwords must be at least 8 characters and include uppercase, lowercase, and numbers.

Passwordless authentication via email:

  1. Click Sign in with Magic Link
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check your inbox for the magic link
  4. Click the link to sign in

Magic links expire after 1 hour. Request a new link if yours has expired.

One-Time Password (OTP)

Secure sign-in with a 6-digit code:

  1. Click Sign in with OTP
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check your inbox for the verification code
  4. Enter the 6-digit code
  5. Click Verify

Social Login

Sign in with your existing accounts:

  • Google - Use your Google account
  • Microsoft - Use your Microsoft/Azure account

To use social login:

  1. Click the provider button (e.g., "Continue with Google")
  2. Authorize Global Watch in the provider's consent screen
  3. You'll be redirected back to your workspace

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

For enhanced security, MFA can be enabled for your account.

Setting Up MFA

  1. Go to Account SettingsSecurity
  2. Click Enable MFA
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
  4. Enter the verification code
  5. Save your backup codes

Using MFA

When MFA is enabled:

  1. Sign in with your primary method
  2. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app
  3. Click Verify

Super-admin access always requires MFA verification.

Session Management

Session Duration

  • Sessions remain active for 7 days
  • Activity extends the session automatically
  • Inactive sessions expire after 24 hours

Signing Out

To sign out:

  1. Click your profile avatar
  2. Select Sign Out
  3. You'll be redirected to the sign-in page

Multiple Devices

You can be signed in on multiple devices simultaneously. To manage sessions:

  1. Go to Account SettingsSecurity
  2. View Active Sessions
  3. Click Sign Out on any session to revoke it

Team Workspaces

After signing in, you can access:

  • Personal Workspace - Your individual account at app.global.watch
  • Team Workspaces - Team accounts at {team-slug}.global.watch

Switching Workspaces

  1. Click the workspace selector in the sidebar
  2. Choose the workspace you want to access
  3. You'll be redirected to that workspace

Security Best Practices

Password Guidelines

  • Use a unique password for Global Watch
  • Include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
  • Avoid common words or personal information
  • Consider using a password manager

Account Protection

  • Enable MFA for additional security
  • Review active sessions regularly
  • Sign out from shared devices
  • Report suspicious activity immediately

Troubleshooting

Can't Sign In

Forgot password?

  1. Click Forgot Password on the sign-in page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check your inbox for the reset link
  4. Create a new password

Magic link not received?

  • Check your spam/junk folder
  • Verify the email address is correct
  • Request a new link after 5 minutes

OTP code not working?

  • Ensure you're entering the most recent code
  • Check that your device time is synchronized
  • Request a new code if needed

Account Locked

If your account is locked due to multiple failed attempts:

  1. Wait 15 minutes before trying again
  2. Use the password reset option
  3. Contact support if issues persist
  • Members - Manage team access
  • RBAC - Role-based access control
